Tiny hole

Paint, screw, and my hand
“ ...touch receptors as a meme tame I’m which there are tiny holes...” a natural history of the senses, Diane Ackerman (pg. 84)

Touch comes with pain and sometimes pain leaves us feeling empty and with holes of emptiness or physical ones. I showed a way to experience pain while also creating a tiny whole by the screw.

Heat

5” x 9”, graphite pencil and color pencil
“Pain produces irregular bleats from the nerves.... heat produces a crescendo as the area heats up.” Diane Ackerman, a natural history of the senses (pg. 81)

I wanted to show a more notable touch artwork but with a twisted to give the viewer and reader a better understanding of the quote on the nerves. When we touch things we have a connection with it and that connection can create heat which is why I used the colors I did.
